TRANSCEPTA EASES E-INVOICING'S MAIN PAIN POINT: SUPPLIER ADOPTION
2008 Marked by Solid Growth; Customers, Partners and Analysts Validate Innovative
Approach to On-Boarding Suppliers
ALISO VIEJO, Calif., January 6, 2009 -
Transcepta LLC, the leading innovator of hosted electronic invoicing solutions,
today announced a banner year in 2008 that was marked by solid growth in its
Electronic Invoicing Community and major corporate milestones achieved.
Transcepta points to its innovative approach to on-boarding suppliers as a primary
reason for the successful adoption of its electronic invoicing technology in 2008.
According to Forrester Research, one of the biggest challenges in the Electronic
Invoice Presentment and Payment (EIPP) market has been getting electronic invoice
data from vendors that still primarily send out paper invoices. In October, Transcepta
was identified as one of six vendors to watch in the EIPP market. The report titled,
"Holistic View: The ePurchasing Software Market" stated that "Transcepta revolutionizes
how suppliers can deliver e-Invoices." Forrester interviewed more than 100 companies
to develop the report.
Traditionally, the value proposition for buyers to adopt e-Invoicing solutions has
been strong, not so for vendors (suppliers). Until now, suppliers simply could not invest the time,
IT resources and expense to identify, purchase and implement an e-Invoicing solution
in order to meet the demands of their buyers. Transcepta has changed the way suppliers
view e-Invoicing, and in 2008 the company has maximized supplier adoption to make
e-Invoicing a reality for businesses of all sizes.
"Supplier adoption is the critical success factor of electronic invoicing," said
Shan Haq, Transcepta vice president of marketing and product management. "From day
one, our approach has been to enable vendors to take part in e-Invoicing, independent
of their size or technology infrastructure."
In July, Monster Worldwide selected Transcepta and Basware to provide an end-to-end A/P automation
solution. Transcepta will reduce Monster's operational costs by eliminating manual
data entry and processing of A/P invoices with its e-Invoicing solution. Transcepta
was selected due to its vendor on-boarding technology and integration with Basware's
A/P automation solution.
To maximize vendor adoption, Transcepta manages the entire on-boarding process for
its customers. As part of this service, Transcepta notifies each vendor of the e-Invoicing
initiative and works with them to determine their optimal invoice submission option.
Transcepta offers vendors a variety of invoice submission options, including the
patent pending Transcepta Virtual Printer. For each of these invoice submission
options, set up is completed in minutes and vendors are able to send invoices directly
from their existing billing system for guaranteed, secure delivery. Further, vendors
do not pay any setup or implementation fees and Transcepta does not require participation
of IT resources.
"We help companies bridge the gap that exists with their vendors," added Haq. "Transcepta
supports all ERP and accounting systems and we can extend any Electronic Data Interchange
(EDI) infrastructure. Transcepta has the industry's best technology and vendor on-boarding
process. With Transcepta, businesses have peace of mind that their vendors can easily
participate in e-Invoicing even if they have rejected web submission portals, EDI
or e-Invoicing networks with 'EDI like' technology in the past."
In April, Transcepta announced that it has filed several patent applications with
the United States Patent and Trademark Office related to its Virtual Printer technology.
Transcepta deploys light vendor interfaces capable of delivering electronic invoices
from an existing billing system without the usual time consuming and expensive integration.
According to Transcepta, vendors and buyers who become part of Transcepta's Electronic
Invoicing Community, advantageously streamline invoicing and payment processes to
improve back-office efficiency and strengthen customer relationships.
Transcepta's vendor customers span multiple vertical industries including manufacturing,
distribution and retail and are a collection of companies of every size - from large
enterprises to small-to-medium sized businesses. For A/P customers, Transcepta's
technology is best suited for enterprises that receive 10,000 or more invoices per
month. Working closely with its customers, Transcepta has been able to quantify
the return on their e-Invoicing solution. In most cases, A/P departments cut costs
by over 50 percent within a six month period - a rapid time-to-value.
Although 2009 presents a challenging economic landscape, Transcepta is optimistic
that customer adoption will continue as their technology enables companies to do
more with less. With phenomenal growth in 2007 and 2008 under its belt, Transcepta
is looking to expand its Electronic Invoicing Community and build more relationships
with partners that have complimentary technology. Moving forward, Transcepta plans
to branch into payment functionality - a natural evolution for an e-Invoicing solution.
"We're seeing a renaissance in e-Invoicing. It's a significant pain point and finally
companies see a viable solution," said Haq.
